EPSILOON DEC. 2025

A science article about mosquitoes

In its December 2025 issue, science magazine Epsiloon published “Mosquitoes: Can We Win the War?” Alsu Khasanova created the illustrations accompanying the article.

Making an everyday presence felt

One image looks down on a street crossed by pedestrians, a cyclist and a dog. A large shadow covers part of the scene, introducing tension into otherwise familiar surroundings.

An open-ended editorial approach

Rather than limit the article to a documentary depiction of an insect, the illustration sets a scene and an atmosphere. Readers are invited to examine the details and connect the image to the question in the headline. Khasanova’s narrative eye gives a popular-science subject an accessible, intriguing visual opening.
