A publication about cultural rights

In April 2026, the Bibliothèque Municipale de Lyon published Lecture publique et droits culturels in collaboration with the association Réseau Culture 21. The book offers a typology and practical reference points to support library professionals in their day-to-day work.

A series of 24 line drawings

Antonio Giovanni Pinna created 24 illustrations to punctuate the publication. His line drawings bring wit and humour to ideas that need to remain clear and accessible. Expressive characters appear in instantly readable scenes: a reader holding up a glowing book, a figure facing several possible paths and even a journey in a lightbulb-shaped hot-air balloon.

Illustration as a reading aid

The series is more than decoration. It accompanies the book’s reference points and gives readers moments to pause. Through simple visual metaphors, Pinna makes the subject easier to approach while giving the publication a coherent, warm and recognisable identity.
