Animated sequences for Mercedes-Benz and KidSuper

For the collaboration between Mercedes-Benz and KidSuper, Stink TV invited Shotopop to direct and produce the animated sequences. The studio developed a narrative world in which the car, the characters and the city move to the same beat.

Welcome to KidSuper Ave, a neighbourhood inhabited by a local hero and his made-to-measure sidekick. Here, the protagonists follow instinct rather than a set plan. A customised Mercedes appears on a dark street as a natural extension of their personalities and the way they move through the city.

A story driven by style and motion

Shotopop uses animation to connect the different elements of this meeting between automotive design and creativity. Movement gives the characters personality, sets the tone and lets the story flow from one situation to the next with graphic freedom.

The sequences remain cinematic while embracing an illustrated visual language. The combination gives them a distinct identity, in keeping with KidSuper’s inventive, unconventional spirit and Mercedes-Benz’s visual presence.

A creative collaboration with many voices

The project brings Mercedes-Benz, KidSuper, Stink TV and Shotopop together around one visual idea. By directing and producing the animated sections, the studio contributes its skill in storytelling, rhythm and moving illustration to a collaboration conceived as a story in its own right.
