Riki Blanco illustrated the cover of Metin Arditi’s novel Le danseur oriental, published in March 2025. The book is the first volume of La trilogie de Constantinople.

The cover relies on a limited palette and an immediately striking graphic treatment. Red and black structure the image and give it a strong presence, suited both to a literary series and to a bookshop display.

Creating an identity without telling the story

A cover illustration must evoke a world while leaving readers room to discover the novel for themselves. Blanco uses colour, silhouette and composition to make an image that stands on its own and is recognisable at a glance. The restrained approach focuses attention on the visual and the book’s title.
