Workout Demon
A personal film born from a bike ride
Workout Demon is a personal project by Shotopop, sparked by a simple experience: an ordinary ride that ends up changing the course of a day. The studio turned it into a short film about the emotional shift that can happen during intense physical effort.
The character pushes through a workout full of strain and sweat. An exerted face, a body in motion and coloured light make an inner feeling visible when words fall short. The film is less interested in athletic performance than in the moment exhaustion gives way to fresh energy.
Giving shape to an emotional transformation
Shotopop approaches the subject with filmmaking that is both cinematic and sensitive. Pace, expression and visual atmosphere convey the progression of the workout and the change in mood. Animation heightens the sensations without losing the personal experience that inspired the project.
That closeness gives the film its particular tone. The humour of the title and the intensity of the imagery sit alongside an honest observation of what a good workout can bring to everyday life.
