EPSILOON APRIL 2026
Two illustrations for Epsiloon
The April 2026 issue of science magazine Epsiloon examines common misconceptions about the pressure to consume more protein. Ludwick Hernandez created two illustrations to accompany the article.
Giving misconceptions a visual form
One scene shows a man at his meal, surrounded by an exaggerated vision of strength and protein-rich foods. The gap between this everyday situation and the character’s imagination makes the promises and fantasies attached to the topic visible.
Humour and storytelling in service of the article
Hernandez’s narrative style draws readers straight into the story without standing in for its scientific argument. The two images contrast perception with reality, in line with the article’s aim of questioning widely repeated claims. Their shared visual language gives the pages rhythm and helps readers follow the subject.
